Starting the New year of 2009 off for us is a Sequel to Shikabane Hime: Aka.
Shikabane Hime: Kuro, will be released in 2009, 01, 01. That's right, the first day of the New year will be the arrival of this awaited Sequel.
Now for those who don't know, Shikabane Hime or "Corpse Princess" is a name that belongs to Makina Hoshimura, an undead girl who seeks to hunt down 108 corpses in order to go to heaven. They have not yet released a Summary for part two of this death defying anime but I'm sure it will be as entertaining as the first.

Our Second Upcoming Release in Anime is one I'm sure many will recognize as an on going Anime, Maria-sama ga Miteru 4th Season. Yes, a fourth Season to a beautiful story involving Romance and a slice of life between two young school girls, well, many young school girls. actually
The english and translated title, Maria Watches Over Us, is about a young girl named Yumi who is a first year student at the Lillian School For Girls, an exclusive all girl's catholic school. The school has a tradition that older girls take a younger girl as their little sister or "soeur" in order to instruct and look out for them. Though Yumi admires Sachiko, a reserved second year student who is a member of the student council, she has no hopes of being chosen as her soeur. When an innocent encounter leads Sachiko to impulsively ask Yumi to be her soeur, Yumi is suddenly brought into the inner circle of the Roses, who are the members of the student council. With Sachiko at her side, Yumi begins to unravel and understand the relationships between the Roses and their soeurs and figure out her own feelings for Sachiko.
The fourth Season Release will be 2009,01,03.

One that I am personally looking forward to, Akikan! Which will also be airing in 2009,01,03. Another romantic comedy that should entertain much of the younger generation. Kakeru Daichi is a typical high school boy, but when he buys a can of melon juice soda from a vending machine his life changes as the can transforms into a girl. One thing about this girl is that she needs to be infused with carbon dioxide from kissing to survive. So we can look forward to a NEW anime, Yay!

Oooh, and we all love the Sadistic Anime Men, but what makes this Man so much more appealing if not more humerous is the fact that it's a Sadistic Anime Man dressed up as an Anime Woman. Yep, they have taken it one step further in this newest Anime, Maria Holic. The story centers on a sophomore girl named Kanako who enrolls in an all-girls school because she has a phobia of men and wants to find her destined yuri partner. She meets a captivating freshman named Mariya who fits her criteria, except her seemingly ideal mate happens to be a cross-dressing sadistic boy. This one will be airing on 2009,01,04 so keep your eyes open for that one.

The third season to Miname-Ke, Miname-Ke Okaeri is coming out in 2009,01,04. There are three of the Minami sisters: Haruka, Kana and Chiaki, who have an average life. The girls only have each other to depend on and help each other get through everything from love confessions to cooking.

The second season of Natsume Yūjin-Chō, Zoku Natsume Yūjin-Chō is soon to be out as well. In the second sequel series of the new season (and second series from production studio ‘Brains Base’), ‘Natsume Yujin-cho’ returns for a second season picking up once again with the grandson of Natsume Reiko as he tries to return the names of all the monsters that his grandmother collected and bound within the ‘yujin-cho’. In the second season, more characters from the manga are expected to make their entrances into the series and either help or hinder Natsume Takashi’s quest to free the ghosts and monsters while evading attacks from those who seek revenge. This should be interesting and I'm looking forward to the always beautiful artwork in this series. 2009,01,05.

Another new Anime coming out is the Science Fiction show Sora Kake Girl. The story is set in the year 311 of the Orbital Calendar, when humanity has migrated to countless colony clusters in space. A space colony girl named Akiha Shishidō encounters a malevolent artificial intelligence named Leopard that has been installed on a colony. Akiha is joined by an Inter-Colony Police officer named Itsuki Kannagi, a taciturn young girl named Honoka Kawai, and a robot named Imoko "Imo-chan" Shishidou. I'm expecting beautiful artwork in this anime judging by who is the Character designer, someone who I'm sure most of you know, Yousuke Kabashima who is the Character Designer of the Gundam Characters in GSD and Naruto, as well as My-Otome. That's not saying anything about the Original Creator himself though, someone who is known throughout the entire Anime industry for the ENTIRE Gundam Collection and MUCH more. Hajime Yatate, if you look up his name you can see his outstanding acomplishments. This will be taking flight in 2009,01,05.

Asu no Yoichi! Having been raised and trained for the past seventeen years as a traditional samurai 'bushi', Yoichi was surprised when his father suddenly announces that there nothing more that he could teach his son, but he arranges for Yoichi to continue training at a dojo owned by one of his fathers friends. So now, Yoichi must leave the tranquility of his remote rural mountain life and move to city to live with his fathers friend's family to continue his studies. And if learning how to cope with city life were not hard enough, he finds himself living with 4 beautiful sisters, and having to endure a ‘training’ regiment more severe than he could ever imagine..... look out for this one in 2009,01,08.

With the upcoming Anime's in January, I'm looking forward to other upcoming's. Each one look's interesting in it's own right and promising in their Art and Character Design. Again, I want to Wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
